Uncle's Brother | iO Theater | Improv/Sketch | Chicago Reader

Uncle's Brother Recommended

When: Sundays, 10 p.m. Continues through Jan. 25 2009

Many stars return to their old stomping grounds for one-off performances; few stay on for extended runs. SNL veteran Tim Meadows is back at iO, doing long-form improvisation with two Second City mainstagers, Joe Canale and Brad Morris, who more than hold their own. Shows like this prove how entertaining improv can be. These guys were born funny, and they're skilled in their craft, creatively building and integrating characters and setups as they challenge one another. They're confident, relaxed, smart, observant, discriminating, and playful. The best all-female troupe in the city, Children of a Lesser God, opens. --Ryan Hubbard
