With character names like Luke Falcon and Wick Treadway, this showbiz romance dangles the promise of a Showgirls-style debacle, but it isn't bad enough to be good. A model turned actress (the beautiful Pell James) falls for a struggling musician (the beautiful Steven Strait) and uses her industry connections to create some fake buzz for him. As usual in movies like this, he's supposed to be the real thing but his tunes are all studio-buffed MOR. Meiert Avis directed; with Carrie Fisher, Kip Pardue, and Ashlee Simpson, who does all her own acting. PG-13, 97 min.
