Urlakis and Cusick: Questionable Lullabies | Stage 773 | Improv/Sketch | Chicago Reader

Urlakis and Cusick: Questionable Lullabies Member Picks

When: Fridays. Continues through Nov. 16 2012

Sketch comedy tends to be politically incorrect, and Dave Urlakis and Sean Cusick push the limits of good taste and then some. They kick off with a joke about Casey Anthony, mother of missing toddler Caylee, building from there to a list of creative things to do with Osama bin Laden's body (re-create scenes from Weekend at Bernie's, train a bald eagle to sodomize it). The duo lacked momentum on opening night and tripped over quite a few lines. But there were some very smart, funny bits, including one imagining a conversation between two Unilever employees who've just gotten the results of a Q-Tip focus group ("They're putting them in their ears!") and another involving an exchange between two overprivileged men who brag about doing things like hunting endangered species. The response to each boast is, "Did it make your penis bigger?" Alas, it never does. —Julia Thiel
