Wake Up, Studs

Studs Terkel feels bad [Letters, November 1]--women shouldn't mind a little sexist haranguing with their pricey cab ride, and if they dare protest they might cost a "no doubt" Islamic cabbie his job. Well, let me ease his mind: that same cabdriver probably refuses to pick up African-Americans or anyone in a wheelchair. And here's a news flash, Studs--when Debra Pickett said to call 311 she didn't mean the police. You must have missed the past two years' worth of public service anouncements that 311 is a funnel to all city services, including where to report rotten cabdrivers.
