Way of a Gaucho

Gene Tierney and Rory Calhoun struggle to stake out a ranch on the Argentine Pampas, circa 1870. Jacques Tourneur, who directed this 1952 western, is the main interest here; an overlooked but very talented artist of the 1940s and '50s, he brought a rare delicacy of feeling to almost every genre script he touched.
