Hip-hop arts salute WBEZ's fourth annual Winter Block Party for Chicago's Hip-Hop Arts includes a street art and graffiti gallery exhibition, a screening of The People Speak (the doc inspired by Howard Zinn's Voices of a People's History of the United States), a poetry slam, live painting by Ruben Aguirre, and the "Emcee Olympics"—and that's only the programming before 6 PM. Later on in the evening (the ticketed portion of the party), break-dancing appreciation gets under way with a retrospective of the movement's history followed by the semifinals and finals of the three-on-three break-dancing battle, hosted by the Legendary Brickheadz. —Kevin Warwick
