A mysterious stranger shows up at an Iranian family's home with a video camera and informs them that their eldest son, living in America and not heard from in years, has requested that they make a tape of themselves for him, possibly as a step toward a rapprochement. His mother and adoring kid brother are willing to forgive his abandonment, but his father, sister, and wife—the last of whom remained to raise their young daughter—are not. Director Bizhan Mirbaqueri doesn't abuse the device of having family members directly address the camera, and he develops the story and characters enough to give the taped responses adequate dramatic heft. With Mohsen Ghazimorad and Leila Zare. In Farsi with subtitles. 90 min.
