We Are Wyld Stallyns, or How Bill and Ted Save the World Closing (Theater and Galleries) The Short List (Theater)

When: Fridays-Sundays. Continues through April 22 2012

Having completed the excellent adventure detailed in the well-known 1989 movie, time-traveling teen dudes Bill and Ted set off to fulfill their destiny of saving the world through music. But in this sequel written and directed for New Millennium Theatre Company by Meagan Piccochi, they first have to overcome some obstacles—including a congressional panel seeking to ban heavy metal and a rival garage band made up of historical baddies who've come from the past to wreak a new round of havoc. The script's desultory stabs at satire take a backseat to the real purpose of this late-night offering, which is to give the cast a chance to make a lot of noise with electric guitars and drums. It's about as fun as watching strangers play Rock Band 3. —Zac Thompson
