An array of tempting, ethnically distinct Thanksgiving dishes is prepared in the kitchens of several LA families as universal dramas play out in their living and dining rooms. Many of us will recognize the mostly fondly drawn stereotypes as each extended family debates the behavior of one or more of its members. Director Gurinder Chadha (Bhaji on the Beach) wrote the screenplay with Paul Mayeda Berges; with Julianna Margulies, Alfre Woodard, Mercedes Ruehl, Kyra Sedgwick, and Joan Chen. 106 min.
