You almost pray that something melodramatic will disturb the oppressive stasis of this convincing 1994 story about an exotic dancer and sometime singer whose use of heroin seems incidental to her misery. Shay (Lauri Crook) and her unemployed guitarist boyfriend (Jack May) play out the same sad drama over and over again, as writer-director-cinematographer Neil Abramson takes you further into their futilely turbulent emotions than you might care to go.
