I'm sure the readers were as confused as we were [Hot Type, April 29]. I've received enough e-mail from Argentineans and Italians alike to last the rest of the year. The Italians say that Nocioni's family probably came to Argentina from Italy after WWI or WWII. They say the correct pronunciation is Noche, not a soft C, and that Nocioni pronounces his name the way somebody speaking Spanish would.

Oh, and they told me that the literal translation of Nocioni in Italian is "big nuts." I don't think it can get any better than that.
