Dennis Quaid is a widowed coast guard admiral with eight children, and Rene Russo is a widowed fashion designer with ten; when they marry and move their charges into a giant seaside house, it's moppet Armageddon. The original 1968 comedy starred Henry Fonda and Lucille Ball and was dreamed up by Lucy's longtime TV writing team, Madelyn Davis and Bob Carroll Jr. This wretched remake was helmed by Raja Gosnell, perpetrator of the live-action Scooby-Doo movies. I'm partial to Quaid and Russo, but there are limits. With David Koechner and Rip Torn. PG, 88 min.
