If you still have any questions about the personal character of Donald Trump, check out this muckraking British documentary (2011) by Anthony Baxter about the tycoon's ongoing crusade to construct a billion-dollar golf resort in Aberdeenshire on the northeastern coast of Scotland. His plan was condemned by an array of environmental groups, who feared for the coast's protected sand dunes and wildlife, but the promise of 6,000 jobs won over the Scottish government (and apparently the local police, who are caught on tape bullying and ultimately arresting the filmmaker). Trump also waged a war of attrition against the handful of longtime local residents who refused to sell him their land, denouncing them in the press and taking advantage of the construction project to cut off their water, electricity, and scenic views. At least he had the decency not to demand their birth certificates.
